HORROR MOVIE SUGGESTION
I really think that we should watch Paranormal Activity. I heard it was a really scary movie, but it is not gorey and gruesome like other horror films. Therefore, I think it is appropriate for the genre we are discussing now and it would be something everyone in the class could watch.

That movie isn't bad! It's all POV but not in the cloverfield sense...It's definitely interesting story telling but it wasn't my favorite. I can see that movie being best seen on your laptop while you're alone in a dark room...that'd be way creepy! But yah it's a pretty good movie.
ReplyDeleteI personally would like to watch either Trick R' Treat because it's very different,
Halloween H20 because it's about Mike Myers coming to a college campus murdering security guards and breaking into the residence halls...very good tribute to Halloween 1 & 2 but you don't need to see them to watch it, I don't think.
or House...which has an EXCELLENT story, excellent cinematography, and it's lesser known...it tributes to classic horror but it's not your typical haunted house movie...
Another movie that tributes to classics that's kinda freaky is "Dead Silence" which is really cool, it's about dummies coming to life but it's not that scary...kinda like Saw, more story than scares.
Actually, Paranormal Activity really isn't bad either now that I'm remembering it...it's unique in it's style! So that wouldn't be bad either... hmmm...
ReplyDeletePersonally I find that Paranormal Activity isnt that scary when you think about the actual movie. Yes it does make you jump and it has a small bit of suspense but compared to the Ring it isnt very scary. I just think that it could have been a lot better developed. Don't get me wrong the core concept of it is terrifying. I would not know what to do if there was a ghost that wouldnt leave me alone. Mainly because there doesnt seem to be much you can do about paranormal stuff. The shaky camera made me want to vomit and thats all that really bothered me.
